The Modern And New Turban Wrapping Look

By Jennie Sandoval

What used to be popular back in the 40's and then again in the 70's, is now back, at least for now. As usual, fashion comes in cycles, and these turbans are no exception. Here are a few different approaches for turban wrapping, and why some are wearing it and why some should perhaps not.

For complete beginners new to this look, one of the easiest ways to get going is to try and find an old scarf around the house, or head to the nearest charity shop and see what they have for a cheap price. Make sure the scarf is a decent length, and then wrap it around the head so the tail ends up in the front. Tie a knot and tuck the access fabric under the knot.

Making or buying a scarf with malleable wire inside is another option. Fabric covers the wire, which allows the wearer to move the scarf around and be more flexible. This is nice in that the look is always a bit different.

Sometimes it can be nice to have the hair hidden away for the day. If this happens to be one of those days, tie up a loose bun and wrap the material around. This can be the best look for those messy hair days as well.

This look does not have to be seen as a covering, but rather an accessory. It can add more flare to the outfit or make it look more bohemian. For those out there with short hair, this is a fun way to try a new look rather than the limiting one or two hairstyles available out there. Or for those with long hair, it can be wrapped around on top of the hair. It just depends on the look one is going for.

This look can be nice any time of the year and on any occasion. Do not forget to accessorize as well. So for those summer parties and outings, add some sunglasses, jewelry, and anything else that adds a bit more personal personality to the outfit. In the winter as well, they can keep the ears warmer and make the ensemble all a bit cozier. For those days of just being at home and wanting the hair out of the face, wrap it up and stay stylish while lounging around home.

While some find this all very trendy, be warned, there are many out there who find this look an absolute mistake and find it a bit too Aladdin like. The trend is only for a certain rare group of people that can pull it off. The rest try and usually fail, but that is very objective.

Turban wrapping is a fun and trendy way to spice up the outfits in the closet. Take a look and see what style works and feels comfortable, and go from there. It can be warn on many occasions and with different accessory options. Have fun with the look and be unique.
