Knowing More About Beads For Wedding Beadwork

By Daniel Turbin

Wedding beadwork is extra exceptional not only since every bride wants their day to be special but also because the beaded pieces tend to become mementos of this special event. It is important to use the right materials in your wedding projects.

A lot of the decision making process will be determined by your financial budget and the kind of wedding you are planning to have. Some brides have dreams of having pearls sewn into their attire and train. Some just wish to create some simple but spectacular jewelry and a head piece. The most common beads using for bridal projects include the following:

Silver beads: You can buy sterling silver beads that are a mix of pure silver and copper. Legally to be traded as sterling silver, the silver content must be quite high usually over 90%.

Gold beads: Many people prefer to use gold beads however for those who cannot pay for the genuine thing they prefer to use silver beads which have been electroplated with gold.

Pearls - The pearls used in beadwork will likely be freshwater rather than the high-priced sea water selection. Pearls can be hard to work with not least as the holes will be somewhat tiny and often off center. They also must separate from other beads since they could get damaged easily. They are ideal for sewing into a dress or headpiece however if you are using them in jewelry you need to put a knot between each pearl so it doesn't strike off any other beads including other pearls. In case you are beginner beader working on their initial project, you could find working with these beads a bit complicated.

Bone beads -these are less commonly used then the above varieties but they are inexpensive and naturally white in color thus are best to use in case you are on a limited budget. You can also use glass to attain an amazing impact on your wedding beadwork.
