Jeff Gordon fights with Clint Bowye brought on him a FINE!

Here is an post by Yahoo talking in regards to the event:

NASCAR pledged it would not render instant judgment on Jeff Gordon for his role in wreckingClint Bowyer and upending the finish of Sunday's Phoenix race. But officials didn't wait significantly longer, handing down a decision on Monday evening: a fine of $100,000 plus a 25-point penalty.

It was not a surprising penalty, however it will undoubtedly disappoint those who believed Gordon deserved suspension for his actions. Gordon not merely ignored a black flag, he altered the championship battle by taking out one of many final contenders.

NASCAR also fined Brian Pattie, Bowyer's crew chief, $25,000 for failing to help keep his crew in line. Alan Gustafson, Gordon's chief, was placed on probation for the rest of the year over the incident also.

That settles factors from NASCAR's end, but what regarding the drivers? Bowyer all but pledged retaliation on Gordon. If that takes place to have championship implications - unlikely but possible - that could reopen the whole matter. If not, properly ... this a single goes in to the NASCAR storybooks as one of the moments that got the nation speaking regarding the sport.

Right here will be the video of what occurred:
