It seems that people have a little understanding about Christianity and the whole concept about Christ. When Christ came to the world, the mission He had was to make sure that humankind gets redemption for their sins and that the good and flourishing relationship God once has with man is restored. He thus came as one sent, a more reason there are no instances in the Bible where God is pronounced Jesus.
There are instances where Christ creates a link between Him and the Heavenly Father, especially during the time where many are not so sure about His origin and mission. For instance, Christ says that whoever has seen Him definitely has seen the one who sent Him. There are other instances where He says that He and the Heavenly father are one.
Christ is the Lamb of the Almighty Father. The phrase Lamb of God appears both in the Old and the New Testament and it refers to Christ being a person given to be the sacrifice that would be offered to God to atone for the grave sins of humankind. Through His death, He would lead many people in the right path and eventually, they would have everlasting life.
The Bible speaks clearly that Christ is the lamb of the Almighty and does not say that Jehovah himself came to be the sacrificial lamb. For God to save the world from sin, shame, death, and give people a new hope for life, he decided he would send someone to be the sacrifice. Christ, the lamb, was therefore slain for the sake of human kind.
When He dies on the cross, just before his burial, the soldiers said that he surely was the son of God. They did not mention that He was the Almighty who had come from heaven in form of human nature. When they tortured Him, they thought about His pretence and knew little about who He really was.
The statement that Christ and the Father are one is an absolute truth. You need to keep in mind that Christ is the son of God, which means that the father and the son are one. If anything, read the Bible and you will see how true this combination is.
People forget one of the most important things about Christ. When He was here on earth, He was completely human, but what made Him different were the supernatural powers that he had. In addition, Jesus says that He is sent, which means He has a mission, hence a reason for why He came from the Father through the Virgin Mary. In fact, He was the son of Joseph at the time and it would later be revealed that He was due from the power of the Holy Spirit.
Today, many people still hail Him as the savior of the whole world. Through Him, human beings receive the forgiveness of their sins and receive redemption. He is the one called Emanuel, a name that means God is there always in the presence of humankind.
