Being an actor is one most fulfilling and glamorous careers; but like any other professional, hard work, resilience and patience are traits that must be cultivated. It has been said that education is the key to success; this is true in virtually all professions. No matter how talented the teen may be, they got to attend class. Most good actors have spent years in college honing their skills. You can always ask around on the best schools your kid should attend.

Try and get an excellent headshot. As a rule, always try and avoid anything flashy or sophisticated. Producers are looking for a plain, professional headshot. A headshot can be the difference between the teen landing a leading role or not; so you want it to be the very best.

Once they've gained your trust, they can either use the information you've given them for other fraudulent activities or they may try to solicit for money from you.

You have to make sure that your teen has a professional curriculum vitae. The CV should be detailed, simple and easy on the eye. Try and avoid unnecessary fonts and flashy colors; they really are not that important. The resume will basically detail what your kid has done in the acting arena.

Focus on building up the resume. Since the curriculum vitae will play a big role in determining whether your kid is selected or not, it makes sense working to improve it. You could take up unpaid roles or even those that don't pay that much; the general idea is to improve your kid's experience.

If your child gets a role in a play or a chance to audition, take it upon yourself to help them through it. Practice and lots of encouragement from home can really help teens be good at whatever they are doing. Remember, your kid is looking up to you, motivating them to keep on can have a positive impact on their performance.

Most probably your kid will not land every role they audition for. Try and encourage them when they fail. Let them understand that even if they didn't make it today, there is always a next time.

Though most of the roles you'll get from such sources may not pay very well, they serve best to improve your kids CV and are a good learning ground.
