By Joyce Myers

Dancing is an amazing activity to engage it. Many people desire to become great dancers. This is because dancing has many economic, and health benefits. However, when you are dancing to win a competition, you cannot afford to dance casually. You need to take your dancing style a notch higher so as to be a significant participant in the competition. Preparing for a dancing competition is hard work. This is because you may need to balance extracurricular activities, social life, and school work. At times, the pressure may be too much and you may feel overstretched. However, with good preparation you can find winning dance competitions very easy.

At times, you may invest a lot of time in preparation, but you may be doing things wrong. If you are to win the competition, you need work hard and smart. You should therefore beware of some of the mistakes that you may require to observe. For instance, attending classes is good, but it not enough. You need to couple it with body workouts that will keep you in top body shape.

You should also not overstretch yourself during the last few weeks to the big day. This is because your body requires healing as well. Even as you work hard, take time to relax and enjoy a nap. Even if you have tight schedule in your class, you cannot afford to work like a robot. Enough sleep and relaxation is important.

Ponder about the preparations you are making and the dance moves you are making. The other people you are competing with should not matter to you. If you have taken time to do your own preparations, others do not matter. When you have perfected in what you are good at, you will be able to present unique and personalized presentations that will showcase your creativity.

Installing a lot of pressure on your results or performance is a fast way to make the competition get into your head and turn it into a negative and stressful experience instead of a positive one. It will also affect you both physically and mentally and sap your energy. You need to have positive moral support around you such as such as great teachers and supportive parents.

As mentioned above, you should not overstretch yourself. However, this does not mean that you should just sit and allow things to go on anyhow. Remember that you are an important part of the competition. If you relax and do nothing, you will not emerge the winner. Keep practicing and learn from the correction of your trainers.

You should also not assume that you know it all. Unless you are a professional in dancing, you need the help of trainers with experience and knowledge on how to make great moves. The trainers will also help you know your progress and monitor the areas you need to improve. You also need to gather ample information online and in a magazine to ensure that you become a top dancer.

During the competition day, be careful about how you do things. Make sure that you take light meals and avoid taking anything few hours to competition. Dress well since dressing will help you feel confident on stage. Do not exaggerate things, be yourself and enjoy the move as well.
