CPR Classes New Jersey For Those Interested In Working In A Surgical Room

By Mary Butler

There are many advantages to working in a hospital. The biggest perk of all, however, is being able to help people return to their normal spritely selves. But there are subtle distinctions between working as a nurse in general and working as a nurse in the operating room or the OR as it is commonly abbreviated. Some of these perks can be argued that they take away from the essence of what it means to be a nurse while others can consider it to be the next level. But first of all, you need to pass the CPR Classes New Jersey to achieve it.

Money is one of the primary motivating factors in doing anything. After all they don t say if you can do something don t does it for free for nothing. Money makes money easier, asked any experienced nurse and they will tell you. On average, nurses who work in the operating rooms often make $4000 more than their counterparts that don t work in the surgical ward. With the rise of interest rates and adjustment for inflation, this figure could have inclined since the comparison in 2016.

The best way to describe what a surgical technician does, better known as an operating room technicians is to sum them up as the following. The people in a medical drama who say nothing but hand the doctor the tools they need to perform the surgery. That is the most basic definition but one of the most inaccurate because that s not all operating technicians do. They are also responsible for preparing surgical rooms and equipment.

One major benefit that may come with working in the operating room is that unlike the regular wards, filled with outpatients, where five to six people and even more depending on whether the hospital is private or not, need constant attention. For those in the surgical ward, they often monitor one patient at a time.

Nurses, can and often do assist in the operation, filling in as operating room assistants. The reason not being due to a hospital being short staffed but often because the nurses have a clearer understanding of the patient as they have attended to them in preparation for the surgery.

Because nurses get to work on one patient at a time it serves as a breath of fresh air compared to nurses who assist and manage in other parts of the hospital.

If the feeling of saving a life or helping someone get better is not enough to convince you of what a fantastic place the surgical ward is to work in. Consider the fact that, your attire is one that is geared towards ensuring comfort. No need for heels and trying to keep up with the latest fashion. Just some comfortable shoes, your uniform and that s it. You re good to go.

Nursing on its own is an advantage to any hospital but working in the operating room, now that s a perk a few things can compete with.
