Toddler Belts Are Not Just For Fashion

By Jaclyn Hurley

Toddlers come in many shapes and sizes but toddler clothes don't. Some kids are thin as a rail while other kids have pudgy little bellies. When you buy them clothes they usually do not fit the way you want them to so you have to purchase belts to make them stay up. Toddler belts are the best way for your child's clothes to stay on while they are running, jumping and playing.

When your little one is learning to walk and their pants start to slip down it can cause them to trip and hurt themselves. Let's face it our toddlers fall down enough on their own they don't need their pants falling down and making them fall even more than they already do.

Of course you can use them as a fashion accessory too. They come in different colors so you can match them with their outfits. They also come in many different materials like nylon, cloth and even leather. They also come with kid friendly buckles. Toddlers have little hands which make it difficult for them to fasten and unfasten their belts. So Velcro is the easiest for them to unfasten.

You could also buy a belt that snaps closed with a button. When toddlers are in the potty training stage it is easier if they can unfasten their belts and fasten them when they are done. It also makes them feel like big kids when they don't have to ask an adult to help them with their belt.

If you have a toddler that does not want to wear belts you can try buying a belt that comes in fun colors that he or she may like. If that does not work you can try letting your child pick out his or her own belt. If a child picks out a belt on their own then they will usually wear it because they got to pick it out.

If your child likes to wear clothes that mommy or daddy wears then buy them a belt like you wear. Boys usually want to look like their daddy so pick out a belt that looks like dads for your little boy. Girls on the other hand like to be princesses so buy a sparkly princess looking belt and she will want to wear it so she can look like a princess all the time. The only problem you'll have is getting her out of it.

Your toddler will be fashionable and their pants will stay in place while they are playing. They will also be able to undo their own belts without your help. Belts can be fashionable but they can also be very functional. Some small kids like to take their pants off at very inappropriate times, just buy a belt that has a buckle they can't work and that will solve that problem.

Let's face it we have all had times when our little ones wanted their pants off. Most young kids don't like to wear clothes. It's our job to make sure they keep them on and a belt is the best way to do that.
