How To Provide Better Service As A Bartender

By Michael Obrien

Providing the best drinks and beverage services to customers is the primary goal of a Florida bartender. To those who are in this business, it is only appropriate to have a good attitude. Hospitality is a firm rule in this industry, after all. The least that the professional can do for the clients is to smile at them when they enter the bar.

Cleanliness is a must to this kind of job. The professional will have to keep the bar sparkling. It is unprofessional for bartenders to let their bar stay dirty even if it is just a minute. Always prepare a clean bar towel to wipe off those moisture or spilled drinks on the bar top anytime. The bottles should be placed back to the shelf after using them.

There are times when the customer relies on the advice given by the said professional when it comes to the drinks that they should drink. Of course, their advice is valued. After all, they are the ones who specializes in this field. Therefore, the customer is ensured a good time when they depend a little bit on the bartenders.

It will help for the said professional to have a good memory. There are a lot of things that one will have to remember, after all. This is especially the case if the bar is quite busy. Not only will the professional has to remember the name of the drinks, it is also important to remember what drinks a regular client has ordered.

It is fine to anticipate how the business will probably go at night beforehand. This means that they have to anticipate when it is necessary to buy more limes and lemons. They should also anticipate when they need to restock the wine cellar with the alcoholic beverages they need for the drinks that they serve.

They have to be fair too. This means that there should be no room for them to give preferential treatment, no matter who the customer is. All people who goes to the bar as a customer should be treated as one, regardless if they are a friend of the bartender or not. Provide equal treatment and care.

Trust is an important quality when it comes to bartenders. The said professional should be honest and value the trust the clients have paced on them. Do not overcharge or underpour with the clients since this will just lead to the bar gaining bad reputation. Breaking trust is the same as costing the professional's job.

Do not be so fixated on tips. This is a gratuity from the side of the clients. They are not obliged to give the professional any, despite the fact that this might be the one that makes up the majority of the professional's income. The patrons will actually notice such obsession with the tips.

Do not forget the legal age for drinking. This is an establishment serving alcoholic beverages. The Florida bartender has to check on the person's ID when it is seems like the customer is someone who is underage. It is not allowed to serve minors alcoholic beverages, after all.
