Whiskey Is Something That Everyone Should Enjoy

By Chris Carr

"Water for Life" is the meaning of the word Whiskey, and it has been one of the most popular beverages consumed by hundreds over many years. Whiskey originated in Scotland in the early 1400's. Made from fermented grain mash, using grains like wheat, rye, barley and corn. Once distilled it is aged in Oak casks. The flavour is still relatively the same as the original made all those years ago. Distillers are committed to preserving their heritage and continually refine their product. Some add a smokey flavour, while others distil their whiskey as much as three times to give a smoother taste.

Whiskey distillers are dedicated to continuing their heritage throughout the world. Ireland has a great Irish whiskey, Jameson's Irish Whiskey, established in 1780, is a triple distilled whiskey made in Dublin. Tullamore Dew is another Irish whiskey, founded in 1820 in Tullamore County, Offaly and is used on occasions for the making Irish coffee.

Scotland is well known for its Johnny Walker Whiskey, that comes in red, black and blue labels. The blue label is an extremely smooth whiskey. The late Queen Victoria and the late King Edward favoured Ballantines Scotch Whiskey, that is distilled in Dumbarton Scotland. Glenfiddich Whiskey, which in Gaelic means" Valley of the Dear", was established in 1820 in the Highland of Scotland. It is a pure malt whiskey. The water used in the distilling of it comes from the local mountain stream, which is reported to be pure.

In America the most popular whiskey is Jack Daniels and Wild Turkey, They are served throughout the country in bars and restaurants. Some people like to drink their whiskey straight or over ice, while others prefer to mix it with coke. It is all a personal choice of the consumer.

Scotland have many distilleries that make an excellent drop of whiskey. They vary from Glenfiddich, which in Gaelic means "Valley of The Dear"" and the distillery whose origins go back to 1886 is situated in the Scotland Highlands. Then there is Black Douglas, Johnny Walker, which is possibly the most popular of all. It comes in different coloured labels, from red to black and to blue. Blue is one of the smoothest whiskies available. The late Queen Victoria and the late King Edward favoured Ballantines Scotch whisky, which is distilled in Dumbarton Scotland.

Discerning people will have a preference as to how they enjoy their tipple of whiskey. While some prefer to sip it straight, others like to pour it over ice to take that sharp "bite' out of it. There are some who like to add coke. Thousands of people all over the world consume whiskey and it is one of the most popular alcoholic beverages on the market today. It is an excellent drink for all social occasions or just to have in the home.

It is an excellent gift for friends and business acquaintances, and will keep for many years, Improving with age.
