People suffering from medical conditions like alopecia, cancer, and chemotherapy are likely to lose hair from their heads. Therefore, investing in some good head gear is a good idea. Over time, changes are done in the head cover styles that patients were allowed to wear initially. Cancer turbans are slowly being replaced with other forms of gear over time. Some of the types of form of head coverings for hair loss include wigs, caps, hats, turbans, and scarves among other designs.

Work stations and food can be easily contaminated by loose hair. That can be prevented by wearing hairnets or snoods, which hold hair and maintain it at the back of the head. Natural or synthetic wigs are available for wearing to hide bald heads or thin hair, although some people also wear them as a costume. In some cases, wigs can serve as symbols of office like in the case of judges, barristers, and parliamentary speaker.

Sun-venturing individuals should invest in sun protected summer hats for protection. The products are available with sweat bands adjustable for proper fitting. They are available in modern styles and the interiors are extremely soft. Winter hats and turbans provide the same level of comfort although the hats incorporate unique features such as wool, which in most cases, is water proof.

Scarves meant specifically to serve patients losing hair is not easy to find. If one is look for one, it is advised to select one that has soft cotton on the inner side to prevent building up of heat. Cotton-made scarves do not slip off the head, especially bald heads, which makes them better over silk and polyester-made hats. Scarves come tied or un-tied giving the buyer the freedom to choose.

Head gears are useful for both casual and official applications. In fact, headdress may be used to enlighten people about certain concepts, occasion, or values when used in specific ways. Hats can be worn or used in diverse circumstances including funerals, prayer meetings, and wedding ceremonies. As such, they come in a wide spectrum of makes and designs. One can also achieve a distinguished look by wearing a cover.

Helmets are specifically meant for skull and neck protection against trauma. Sports like boxing and American football cause a lot of trauma and make it necessary to wear some protective gear. Other professional who wear helmets include construction site workers, motorcyclists, cyclists, and skaters. Countries have clear laws regarding the wearing of helmets in particular job categories.

Orthodontic hats are applied in correcting anteroposterior discrepancies, control mandibular and maxillary bones from overgrowing. Short upper jaws may be encouraged to grow frontward through continued wearing of orthodontic covers. They are manufactured with fitting straps, elastics, cap, and face bow. Treatment headdresses must be set by medical practitioners and not just anyone.

Removing headdresses sends different messages. The military has distinct directives on where and when to put on or remove hats. In military hat removal is treated as salutation. It is a requirement in most countries that citizens remove their hats when the national anthem is playing as a gesture of respect. Salutations may be passed by tilting forward, touching, raising, or briefly removing a hat.
