Dish Network Internet Review

By Brian Stevens

If you are living in a outlying area where DSL high speed Internet is not accessible, the one option you have to get high-speed internet is by satellite. However which of the satellite providers offers you the best service for the best price?

Introduced in 2012, Dish Network's high-speed satellite Internet service, called dishNet, is a recent addition to the Dish Network product line.

Here is a review of their service . . .

What's dishNET?

dishNET is simply the name that the Dish Network company gave to its satellite Internet company.

Describe just how Dish Internet works?

With dishNET you receive a satellite Internet system which consists of a satellite modem and a dish. When you get on the Internet, your computer sends a signal to your modem which will send the signal to your dish. That signal is forwarded to a satellite that bounces that signal to a receiving station.

Once an online site is located, the signal is sent from the receiving station, to the satellite, to your dish, and back to your modem which decodes that signal and sends it to your computer.

How fast is dishNET?

With Dish Network you can get download speeds as high as 10 Mbps, plus upload speeds as high as 2 Mbps, That is 100 times faster than dialup service.

Can I get their satellite services in my location?

. If you've got a clear view of the southern sky, then where ever you reside in the U.S. you can receive Dish .

Just how much does it cost?

Fees start at $39.99 monthly if bundled with Dish Network TV services, or $49.99 without their service.

What additional costs are there?

There's a $10 a month equipment rental charge plus a $99 activation charge. However, if you are a Dish Network TV customer or if you buy their TV service, you will not need to pay the account activation charge..

What are the requirements to obtain the discount?

You will need to subscribe to America's Top 120 package or above, dishLATINO Clasico or above, or DISH America or above as well as your internet service.

Exactly what are data caps?

Data caps are the limitations on the amount of data you are allowed to upload as well as download to your laptop or computer.

What exactly are dishNET's data caps?

Based on the particular plan you choose, your data caps will be 10 GBs, 20 GBs, 30 GBs a month.

Can I keep track of the data I use?

To check the volume of data you have used, visit mydish.com and then click the "Usage" tab.

What will happen after I exceed my data cap?

Should you use more data than the data cap will allow, your data transfer rate will be throttled down till the end of the month.

Will disNET hit you with data overage charges?

There aren't any fees for going past the data cap.

dishNET has now made high-speed Internet accessible to anyone who wants it.. Now you can purchase high-speed Internet at a price you can afford.
