Utilising Photography For Interior Design

By Cindy Hess

The modern way of life has shaped interior design concepts in more ways than one. In fact, today, it is common to see that the field of photography is directly entwined in the interior design business. If you are a keen observer, you might have observed that photography has already changed the traditional paintings on the walls of contemporary living spaces. An increasing number of interior designers are using photographs to embellish walls of the modern homes of today.

The use of photos is quite popular in Malaysia interior design. As most of Malaysian living spaces and condos are quite small and spaces are scarce, photos can actually add that air of design for home and condo interior design. In Interior Design Malaysia, photos can actually even add depth and the illusion of added space.

A blank white wall is dull and plain, but if you will add a huge photograph of a white marble hallway that will instantaneously add a unique look to it. Be creative, there are endless options by utilising complementary colours that break dull feel. You can actually add artful photos of toys in a kids' bedroom or you can generate an illusion of space in your low ceiling room by utilising a spiral staircase which was taken from the base up.

One reason why photos are trending in interior design is that it can be relatively easy to personalise. Although some might argue that paintings can be personalised too, paintings are way much expensive than photographs. Additionally, there are many ways of how photos can improve the interiors of residential spaces.

Photography isn't merely utilised as a home ornament in interior design. It is also the main media used to advertise the work of interior designers. Without photography, every tiny detail of an interior desinger's work won't be captured and in interior design, everything is in the details. It's safe to say that devoid of photography, the success of interior designers would be hard hunted.
