Basics On Eagles Tribute Bands

By Eula Clarke

A tribute act refers to musicians who play only the music of popular, well-known acts. These artists usually mimic style and songs of artists. Acts strive to emulate the appearance and vocal style of the musicians. Those who make the closest approximation are often considered the best at what they do. Some others will try to add a unique twist or quirk to their performance that differs from the original act. There are many Eagles tribute bands that perform around the globe.

The musicians in these bands typically name themselves after the act they are honoring. Sometimes a pun is involved. The group could also take their name from a popular song or album by the original act. Some musicians are commonly copied in this way, such as Elvis Presley or The Beatles. However, there are also a lot of these groups dedicated to the Eagles.

Eagles is the name for a well-known rock band that formed in California in the early half of the 1970s. The original members were Bernie Leadon, Glenn Frey, Don Henley and Randy Meisner. This music is sometimes called soft rock, country rock and even folk rock. The band has received numerous honors and developed a dedicated fan base located in many regions.

Eagles are considered among the most successful groups of the 1970s. This is when they were in their heyday, although they have been successful for many years. The band performed between 1971 and 1980 before breaking up for a short time and reuniting in 1994.

The music of the Eagles has been released on Capitol, Lost Highway, Asylum, Geffen and Polydor labels. This band is a top seller when it comes to bands worldwide. It earned this title by selling over 150 million records. Other American bands have not achieved as much as the Eagles.

Because of their popularity, it is no surprise that musicians pay tribute to the act. These tribute acts perform in venues around the world, honoring the music and style of this band. For many, attending these types of shows is enjoyable and nostalgic. They might feel as though they will never have the opportunity to see the original band live, so a tribute group is the next best option. These acts usually have their performances down and provide a positive, spirited experience for Eagles fans.

The band has a big discography. It first put out a self-titled album in the year 1972. This was followed by numerous other releases, including two video albums, two live albums, 29 singles, 10 compilation records and seven study albums. Most of the Eagles releases have received high honors, including reaching the tops of many charts and winning awards. Of course the music has also helped them establish a strong name for themselves in music history.

As the name suggests, the musicians who choose to play this music are playing tribute to the original act. Usually these band members are fans themselves. They may choose to do this as a hobby or a full-time job. Some make a decent living off of performing in this way, especially if they choose a popular group like the Eagles. Performing in this type of band may be a good experience for up-and-coming or beginning musicians who want to become more comfortable on stage or sharpen their singing or playing skills.
