Advantages Of An Interactive Classroom

By Heidi Carver

A classroom would be effective for learning if there is interaction. It would be nice if the teacher is not the only one who would talk. It would be better if the student would also talk and interact with others as he learn.

Schools have developed many learning strategies for this. They have thought about having an interactive classroom. It was a nice idea as it gave a lot of benefits in making students learn more on what has been taught to them.

This has been much effective than the traditional classroom. This would not limit a scope of the subject being taught. Students are being allowed to participate actively in class through a lot of techniques. The next statements are the advantages of having one in your school.

A student can study a subject at his own pace. By working at his own pace, he could prepare for other tasks outside the course. This allows a student to just study quickly in a subject he already understands and slow down on the subject which he finds hard. Through this, other students will not be delayed by other learners who find some lesson hard. The teacher could just add a new subject when students are ready for it.

Another benefit is it reduces operation expenses of the school. Schools can save money on their utility bills since learners do not need to be inside the room at all times. It allows the school to use those rooms for their classes which could not be taught interactively. There are also schools that allow their students and teachers to just meet online if the weather is not good. A student no longer need to travel and would save transportation costs.

In this new learning style, traditional boards are being created online. Boards like these allow the creation of conversation threads which could be created by teachers. Pupils may use the thread in order to post a question and to have participation in the discussion. Learners could study and could answer the questions wherever they are. They have a choice to create chat rooms for real time discussions.

If a teacher is not an expert on certain subjects, they can use this type of learning in teaching students. It will be able to provide a student the lessons for that subjects. If the school does not have concept models for some subjects, there are already software programs available to be able to create that.

Another advantage of this is it will motivate a learner to improve her communication skills. She will be motivated to do it so that she can actively participate during the discussion. It will make her more confident when interacting with others. This will make it easier for her to express her ideas on some subjects.

Having this type of learning, learners would develop their critical thinking and communication skills. It would not limit them as to what is just available in the classroom. It provides a lot of sources for the subjects if they wanted to learn more about it. It would be a good training for them to be prepared for the real world.
