How To Find Fantasy Landscape Photos

By Linda Cantrell

When people think of fantasy they tend to think of wizards, orcs, elves and so forth. It tends to be a genre that is associated with grand images. This is especially true with the backdrop of fantastical stories. This is probably why fantasy landscape photos are popular with a wide range of people.

Another thing that people tend to think of when they think of fantasy is something for children. Indeed a lot of the great images people tend to think of comes from fairy tales. The term fairy tale tends to evoke an idea of cuteness and something that comes from a cartoon.

By contrast there are also images that utilise light. For example there are fairy kingdoms that tend to use white and glowing crystals. This results in wonderful reflections. These often look very attractive on a photo and will often stand out. While fairies are often associated with children it can be surprising how clear and realistic this kind of picture can appear to be.

A photo does not necessarily have to come from a literary source. There are numerous official merchandise pictures that you can get that show off the landscapes based on the films, television series and books that they are featured in. For fans this is often something special in addition to the more usual forms of merchandise you can get.

By contrast there are also images based on lighter images. Grand castles, mountain ranges and so forth may exist in real life and look grand in and of themselves. In fantasy these become more exaggerated, their features becoming more distinct. These are the places that are backdrops to grand stories so it is only right that they are iconic in and of themselves.

A lot of these images come from books, television series and so forth. Some such as the locations used in the film adaptation of Lord of the Rings take real life landscapes and add extra computer effects in order to further cement a grand and epic backdrop. Indeed many places have had a boost in tourism based on these fantastical additions to the real world due to fans wanting to visit the locations in person.

In other cases it is more about looking online and checking the images. There are a wide array of places you could get them. They can be found in art stores, galleries and on websites. If you attend conventions the artists will often sell themselves and may even be willing to sign them for you!

A check on an image gallery on your regular search engine will allow you to compare a wide array of fantasy landscapes. It is worth looking through a number of them in order to think about the kind of style that you personally like and would want to purchase to display on your wall. You should also look for forums or social media sites to talk with other fantasy enthusiasts to see what artists that they would personally recommend. You should also look up local galleries, art stores and conventions as you may even get the chance to meet the artists in person and get their work signed!
