Reasons For Choosing The Cavalier King Charles Spaniels

By Jessica Gray

Aside from kittens, dogs are among the most popular pets in the world and they won the hearts of many pet lovers. They are sweet, smart, affectionate, loving, and easy to train. Dogs are wonderful pets because they are compassionate, giving, playful, and fun. Actually, a new pet can give you and your family members with more unreserved love that you never imagine.

But bear in mind that acquiring a new pet is a commitment as long as you live. Once you have made up your mind to acquire a new pet at home, there are many breeds out there to choose from which you can choose. Basically, The Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are one of those popular breeds that pet owners prefer to have. It becomes one popular breed because of their unique features.

Ideally, those breeds love to be with humans and do not want to be left alone for longer periods of time. Also, they make a perfect companion for senior citizens who want to walk with them every morning and have a yard for chasing and running. Their trainability, energy level, and temperament make them an amazing choice for many pet owners.

Spaniels are often called as sporting breed toys due to the combination of their spaniel and toy traits. Though they love cuddling and a sweet tempered breed, they mostly have athletic instincts. Indeed, they are good runners and chasers. A fenced loan is also necessary because they love pursuing other animals and even butterflies into the streets.

Like any other breeds, Cavaliers need an amount of exercise every day. And remember, these breeds are people oriented. They often get stressed when left alone for so long and should have good companionship either other pets or humans on a day to day basis. If left alone, they always bark and even chew or whine destructively.

The good is that Cavaliers are peaceful with other animals and polite with everyone. But like other dogs, they often lack confidence or courage., thus, spaniel puppies need an early socialization to establish outgoing temperament and confidence. So if you want all of those characteristics, then a spaniel puppy may be right for you.

However, if you do not want puppies with separation anxiety, timidity, shyness, orb lots of shedding, then never attempt to own one. Typically, you can avoid or even minimize some negative features of dogs by selecting the right breeder and a good puppy. If you prefer to acquire one from an animal shelter, it would be best to select an adult dog that does not dominate negative traits at all.

It is also important to give him a proper training so he would respect you. One of the biggest problems with spaniels today is health. The three common health problems include valve degeneration which eventually leads to heart failure, skin allergies, ear infections, all of which are eligible for insurance benefits.

If you are finding a charming companion for the rest of your life, you may consider this kind of breeds. But not because they are trainable means you will take them for granted. Of course, you will face several challenges which can be managed if you want to. It is also vital to set basic expectations for your pup.
